Information Technology Department
The establishment:
The Department of Information Technology was established at Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq (p) University on 1/5/2018, for the purpose of assisting in achieving the University’s main objectives, which are excellence in e-learning and providing software systems to be harnessed to serve the university employees and facilitate their work in addition to keeping pace with modern technological developments and employing them for the interest of the University. The University has paid great attention to this Department owing to its paramount importance in advancing the University scientifically and practically and in assisting employees, reducing their efforts and increasing their productivity, as well as contributing to providing a more comfortable work environment and less effort for management to control.
Department objectives:
Among the most important objectives of the IT Department are:
- Keeping abreast of the continuous technological modernity and harnessing it to serve the students and employees of the University.
- Providing the electronic systems that facilitate the work of the University.
- Solving routine problems for the University employees related to the Internet, communications, computers and electronic systems.
Department staff:
The staff of the Department is divided into programmers, responsible for designing, building and maintaining electronic systems and preparing the appropriate perception of these systems and how they work, and network engineers responsible for the University's network systems, servers and information security. In addition, there is a technical support staff responsible for dealing with employees to identify their computer-related problems and provide appropriate solutions to them.
Department branches:
Software Branch: It is the branch responsible for ensuring the construction and development of software systems according to agreed engineering methodologies and approved standards, in addition to verifying the integrity of their work and freedom from errors, taking into account the low cost and complete reliability of modern systems and tools. This section builds and maintains software applications using modern technical tools for building software.
Network and Server Branch: It is the section responsible for all aspects related to the University’s servers, diagnosing problems in the event of an error in the services or network, and repairing them in a timely manner, in addition to maintaining internet communications and the employees’ communications network. Among the other tasks directed to this branch are the evaluation and maintenance of computers, dealing with computer systems and protection programs, maintenance of printers, and providing technical support to employees during a technical malfunction.
